A 63-year-old Nanango man will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on April 22 after police seized a number of cannabis plants in a house on Smith Road at Booie on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said 21 pots containing 65 cannabis plants, 35 cannabis seeds and 18 plants growing in the ground were located.

The man has been charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and failing to dispose of a syringe.

There has been a spate of drugs charges in Nanango this week.

On Tuesday:

  • A 47-year-old woman was charged with possessing cannabis and possessing drug utensils (Fitzroy Street).
  • A 31-year-old woman was charged with possessing cannabis and possessing drug utensils, and a 34-year-old man was charged with producing dangerous drugs (McEwan Road).
  • A 19-year-old woman was charged with possessing cannabis and possessing drug utensils (Alfred Street).
  • A 31-year-old man was charged with possessing cannabis and possessing drug utensils (Drayton Street).
  • An 18-year-old man was charged with possessing cannabis and methamphetamine, possessing drug utensils, unlawful possession of a Category M weapon (a flick knife), possessing ammunition, and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence (Wickham Street). He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on May 5.

On Thursday:

  • A 31-year-old man was charged with possessing cannabis and methamphetamine, and two counts of possessing drug utensils (Parsons Road). He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on March 24.
