Nanango identity Jim Mangan celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday with an open house that attracted more than 200 people through the doors.
Jim and his wife Lex have nine children (four girls and five boys), 23 grandchildren and five (“plus two on the way”) great-grandchildren.
Their eldest son Michael made a speech to the assembled crowd who gathered at the residence of Jeff Lynde and Imelda Mangan.
Jim was born and educated in Nanango and for many years worked in the timber industry.
In recent years he has made a name for himself as a bush poet.
