South Burnett builders and contractors will have the chance to meet Housing Minister Tim Mander in Nanango next week.

Mr Mander will be speaking at a public forum at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street between 2:00pm and 3:00pm on Thursday, March 13.

Mr Mander’s department is responsible for the State Government’s capital works program which helps build and maintain public facilities across the State such as schools, hospitals, police stations and court houses.

The department is also responsible for regulating the construction industry, managing the State’s social housing system and overhauling State Government procurement processes.

Mr Mander will be talking about the Government’s policy directions in the construction industry, red tape reduction and the new Queensland Building and Construction Commission.

The visit has been arranged by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and while the forum is free, places are limited.
