The South Burnett Regional Council’s 2014 Acquisitive Art Competition will have the theme of “The Great War 100 Years Ago” to mark the centenary of the start of World War I.

“The competition is open to all ages and all forms of medium but the artwork must depict some aspect of Australia’s involvement in the First World War,” South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.

“There is $2000 in prize money from the South Burnett Regional Council; $1000 for the winner, $700 for 2nd and $300 for 3rd place.

“We are also fortunate to have the Kingaroy Memerambi RSL Sub-Branch on board as a sponsor of the People’s Choice Award which is $500.”

The competition closes on Monday, March 24.
