Police are still hunting an armed man who attempted to hold up the Kingaroy McDonald’s store on Monday night.

The man, who was wearing a balaclava and dressed in a long-sleeved black jumper and jeans, was last seen heading down Haly Street in the direction of Memorial Park just before 10:00pm.

Kingaroy Police Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said the man may have then entered a white sedan – possibly carrying other people – and left the area via residential streets.

Snr Sgt Frank said police had spoken to a number of people and were following lines of inquiry.

The man is described as 188cm tall, caucasian with a thin build.

He was carrying a curved blade.

Video of the incident was captured on CCTV.

Snr Sgt Frank said anyone who had any knowledge about the incident – and who had not yet been spoken to by police – should contact the Kingaroy police station or phone CrimeStoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.

No money was stolen from the store.
