An elderly couple has been taken to Kingaroy Hospital for treatment after a single-vehicle crash about 9:00am today on the D’Aguilar Highway near Nanango.

An RACQ CareFlight Rescue spokesman said the pair were travelling north along the highway when the driver, a man aged in his early 70s, apparently lost control of the vehicle a few kilometres south of Nanango.

The car veered off the road, rolled and come to rest in a ditch.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene to provide assistance and the highway was briefly blocked.

The helicopter’s flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic treated the man for a minor head injury.

The female passenger, aged in her 60s, suffered a minor leg injury.

When it was determined they did not need emergency helicopter transport, the couple – from Pinelands – was taken to Kingaroy Hospital by road ambulance for further treatment.

Both were in a stable condition.
