Brenda Howells and Ann Weiland having fun at last year

South Burnett and Cherbourg On ShowSeptember 11, 2013

A Garden Fete at Proston on Sunday, October 6, will help the Proston Angels raise funds for the group’s annual Relay For Life effort, as well as give keen gardeners a fun morning out into the bargain.

The event will be held at Rose Park Garden at 12 Okeden Road in Proston, and will run from 8:00am to 1:30pm.

The Garden Fete is a popular annual event and always features lots of things to entertain and amuse gardeners.

This year it will feature a range of stalls selling anything from plants to novelty items, along with a white elephant stall for those who like to discover surprise bargains.

There’ll also be lots of fun games and competitions with a gardening theme; a Lucky Gate Prize of $50 cash that will be drawn at 1:00pm (you’ll need to be on site at draw time to claim it); and a major raffle that will also be drawn at 1:00pm;

The Proston Line Dancers will be putting on a boot-scooting performance during the morning, and there’ll also be a public Flower Show and a Photography Show that anyone is welcome to enter (entries need to be in by 9:00am and there’s a 50c entry fee for either competition).

The Proston Angels will be manning the fete’s food and drinks stands throughout the morning, serving up hot and cold food, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Admission to the Garden Fete is a gold coin donation and everyone is welcome.
