The Heritage Nanango Community Branch has thrown its support behind the Nanango Streetscape Project by donating $66,000 to kick off Stage 1 of the project.
“The Board was pleased and supportive of the proposal presented at a recent meeting,” South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.
Heritage Nanango Community Funding Chairman Wendy Zerbst said the Board of Directors unanimously agreed to sponsor the project.
“We are proud to be a partner with South Burnett Regional Council,” she said. “The Board believe this will be an enormous asset to Nanango and the South Burnett.”
Cr Barry Green said Nanango was a great community and he welcomed the streetscape project.
“We envisage it will entice visitors to stop and have a look around the town,” he said.
South Burnett Regional Council will be conducting further community consultation regarding the project in coming weeks.
