More than 25 principals and school representatives from around the Nanango Electorate took the opportunity recently to meet with Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington at a special “Principals Round Table” held in Crows Nest.

Mrs Frecklington said it was pleasing so many principals from around the electorate could make the journey to Crows Nest, especially at such a busy time of year.

“Principals travelled from the South Burnett, Somerset and region north of Toowoomba to attend.

“It is often difficult for principals to find time in their busy schedules, however, I would like to thank them all for taking the time as it was a fantastic opportunity to meet one-on-one with the Minister and discuss key issues faced by their schools,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“Our government has made a strong commitment to school principals and the idea of the Principals Forum is to help the Minister, Department and myself learn more about important matters affecting schools and their students.

“Principals from State and non-State primary and high schools raised issues such as the teacher funding model, funding for students with disabilities, information technology and wireless connection, bus transport schemes, classroom space, grounds maintenance and much more.”

“I will now discuss these issues further with the Minister to investigate solutions and options for our schools.”
