The South Burnett’s four photography clubs –  Blackbutt, Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon – hosted the 2012 South Burnett Interclub Photographic Competition at the Nanango Cultural Centre yesterday afternoon.

More than 160 of the club members’ best works, both prints and projections, were on display.

In the prints section, photographers competed in six subjects: “Animal / Bird / Insect”, “People”, “Pictorial”, “Flora”, “Creative” and “Footwear”.

In the “B Grade” projected images, there were two categories:  “Open” and “Nature”.

Judges came from the Photographic Society of Queensland: Graham Burstow, Alwyn Kucks and Warren Veivers.

Winners were:

  • Animal / Bird / Insect – Howard Jack (Kingaroy club)
  • People – David Bayley (Nanango Club)
  • Pictorial – Keren Mcsweeney (Nanango Club)
  • Flora  – Ivor Dimmock (Murgon Club)
  • Creative – Janette Scanlan (Murgon Club)
  • Footwear – Keren McSweeney (Nanango Club)
  • B Grade “Open” – Robyn Matheson (Kingaroy Club)
  • Overall winner – Janette Scanlan (Murgon Club)
  • Overall winning club, for the second year running, was Nanango & District Camera Club
