The 123 Army Cadet Unit has expressed its thanks to everyone who made their recent car boot sale in Nanango a success.

“The weather wasn’t particularly nice, with drizzly rain all day. Without the enthusiasm of the parents involved in running the stalls we wouldn’t have had such a successful day,” Captain (AAC) Liane Kerr said.

“A sausage sizzle with tea and coffee and lots of cakes were on sale and everything was sold.

“Our particular thanks go to Misty Thornhill, who without her tremendous effort in picking up donations from businesses throughout the district, the raffle would not have been as outstanding as it was.

“Thanks also go to the businesses that supported us and everyone else who was in the background supporting the Cadet Unit.”

The raffle winners were:

  • 1st prize – Teagan Rose
  • 2nd prize – Ronnie
  • 3rd prize – Alan
  • 4th prize – Sarah
  • 5th prize – Delia
  • 6th prize – ME Smith

“Everyone has received their prizes and were very pleased with what they won,” Captain Kerr said.

“Our thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets and approximately $2000 was raised. This will be used for the wish list that we have been given by the cadets.”

Army Cadets range from 12 ½ years to 18 years of age, male and female.
