Making a prank call to Triple O in Wondai back in 2010 has finally caught up with a NSW man.

Andrew Jeremy Smith, from Surry Hills in Sydney, was charged with making a vexatious emergency call after an incident that occurred in June 2010.

In Brisbane Magistrates’ Court last week, police alleged Smith rang Triple O from a Wondai phone box claiming a friend of his had been assaulted at the Wondai skate park. He also claimed people at the park were smashing bottles.

Murgon and Wondai police responded to the call but found no sign of any incident.

Smith was fined $300.
