Jumping Ant Arts Open Day - Kingaroy
The Jumping Ant Arts art group will be celebrating their 10th birthday with an Open Day at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. Apart from the group's Spring Collection exhibition, guests today can see print making, rug making and floral art demonstrations; make their own silk painted scarf for $5; and enjoy morning tea with the artists. There'll also be a great pottery item up for grabs in the lucky door prize. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. You can also read more about this on our website.
Kingaroy Dementia Support Group
The Orana Dementia Support Group will be holding its monthly meeting in the Community Hub at Kingaroy's Orana aged care facility from 10:00am to noon today. The group meets to discuss all aspects of dementia, provide support for carers and to share information, and all family and friends of a person suffering dementia or short term memory loss are welcome. Blackbutt Camera Club
The Blackbutt Camera Club will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your own camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:00pm. Wednesday Afternoon Games - Blackbutt
The Roy Emerson Museum at the end of Hart Street in Blackbutt will be hosting Wednesday afternoon board games from 2:00pm to around 4:00pm today. There'll be a big range of popular board games on offer, but guests are welcome to bring their own if they wish. Rising Stars Playgroup - Yarraman
The Yarraman Rising Stars Playgroup will be meeting at the Yarraman P9 State School Meeting Room between 8:45am and 10:30am this morning. Children involved in the playgroup will get to enjoy a morning of indoor and outdoor play and fun; develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills; form strong relationships with other children; and transition to school more smoothly. If you're bringing your child along, you should also bring along morning tea, a water bottle, a hat, closwed-in shoes suitable for climbing and old clothes (sunscreen will be provided). Nanango Theatre Company Auditions
The Nanango Theatre Company will be holding auditions for their next production "Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" at their playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 6:00pm tonight. Brothers Grimm will be staged on November 29-30 and December 6-7, and the NTC have roles for males and females of all ages in this wild, free-form comedy that will also involve lots of audience participation. Suicide Alertness Training - Murgon
A free three hour Suicide Alertness Training Workshop will be held at Murgon RSL at 70 Gore Street, Murgon from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. The workshop will teach participants how to identify people thinking of suicide and how to connect them with the correct assistance and resources. Alcoholics Anonymous - Proston
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
