South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Hivesville Country Markets
The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds from 7:00am to around 1:00pm today. These family friendly monthly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. There'll also be mini auctions running throughout the morning and there's plenty of free parking in the grounds. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally - Kingaroy
The second (and final) day of the annual two day Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally will be held at Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport between 9:00am and 12:00 noon today. The rally attracts vintage machinery enthusiasts from all over South East Queensland and there'll be a huge range of antique machinery on display including cars, tractors, trucks, crawlers and stationary engines. Other highlights include a Grand Parade, slow tractor races, sled pulling, ploughing, ring events and much, much more! If you're hungry, there'll also be a barbecue, food and drink stalls operating too. Exhibitors from other clubs are also very welcome, but you'll need to arrange your own public liability insurance (which will be sighted on arrival). Admission is $10, but under-12s can get in for free.
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Fun Lawn Bowls Fundraiser - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club and Kingaroy Rotary will be holding a Fun Lawn Bowls Day from noon to 4:00pm this afternoon at the Kingaroy Bowls Club in Youngman Street to raise funds for the South Burnett Autism Support Group. The action will start at noon with a lunch featuring the famous Bushie's Burgers, followed by lawn bowls from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, then raffle drawings, nibblies and social drinks. Play will be in teams (solo players will be assigned to one, nominations in by 11:00am) and fees are $20 per person which includes bowls, lunch and nibbles, or $10 for non-players for a burger ($5 for U12s). Bowlers and non-bowlers are all welcome - just wear soft-soled shoes, socks or go barefoot. You can get more details from the bowls club on (07) 4162-1404.
Manumbar Campdraft
The second (and final) day of the weekends-long Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdraft Grounds, kicking off around 6:30am this morning and continuing until the afternoon. This year's campdraft will feature a Maiden, Novice, Junior, Juvenile, Restricted Open and Open Drafts, as well as pony club events for children. There's free on-site as well. Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Creative Roundtable - Murgon
The Creative Roundtable will be holding its latest meeting at the Murgon Services Club in Lamb Street, Murgon at 1:00pm this afternoon. The Roundtable discusses local arts initiatives - for example, developing an Arts Policy for the South Burnett Regional Council - as well as looking at arts initiatives (eg: an upcoming aerosol spray painting workshop in Murgon). Today's Roundtable will be preceded by an informal Meet & Greet auspiced by South Burnett Arts at noon to discuss items that should be put on today's agenda. All people with an interest in the growth and development of local arts are very welcome!
Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Central Queensland U18s Girls Carnival - Murgon
The second (and final) day of the inaugural Central Queensland U18s Rugby League Girls Carnival will be held at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon today. At 9:00am, Sunshine Coast will play South Burnett; and at 10:00am, Rockhampton will play Toowoomba. A canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome.
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon.
