South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
SBRC General Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its monthly General Meeting at the Warren Truss Chambers inside its offices in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning to ratify decisions made at sub-committee meetings and attend to other items of business. Interested people can view the meeting in person or via a livestream on the Council's website.
EmergencyRedi Workshops - Kingaroy
The Australian Red Cross will be running two EmergencyRedi Workshops at the Kingaroy Town Hall's Reception Room in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 10:30am and 1:00pm today. The workshops will cover how to prepare for emergencies and how to develop an Emergency Rediplan. Each workshop is free but reservations are necessary. You can book a place on Eventbrite (Note: Two additional workshops will be held in Nanango tomorrow)
State Of Origin
The third (and final) 2024 State Of Origin match between the Maroons and Blues will be played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium from around 8:10pm tonight. The Maroons, who were ranked as underdogs going into this ultimate annual competition, scored a pretty convincing win in the first round. But they were comprehensively thrashed by the Blues in the second round, which produced a 1-all draw. So both teams will be hoping for a win tonight to secure this year's crown ... and that should produce some pretty incredible rugby league action on the field. Throughout if you want to enjoy the match with mates, or you can stay at home out of the chilly winter weather and watch all the action on free-to-air TV.
Wooroolin QCWA Meeting
The Wooroolin QCWA will be holding their regular monthly meeting at the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway, Wooroolin at 10:00am this morning. Blackbutt Camera Club
The Blackbutt Camera Club will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 7:45pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your own camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:45pm. South Burnett CTC will be holding a free Cuppa and Chat morning at the Nanango Neighbourhood Centre at 41 Drayton Street in Nanango from 9:30am to 10:30am this morning. These informal Cuppa & Chat mornings are held every Wednesday and everyone is welcome!
Scam Awareness Workshop - Wondai
The South Burnett Regional Council's libraries will be running a free scam awareness workshop at the Wondai Library in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 10:00am this morning. With online scams on the rise, this workshop will teach participants how to protect themselves from scams, and share practical tips on how to detect and avoid scams. More details? Proston Mental Health Peer Support Group

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 Macalister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
