Power Up Car Show, Shine & Swap Meet - Nanango

The sixth annual Power Up Car Show & Shine And Swap Meet will be held at the Alan Downie Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango from 9:30am to around 1:30pm today. This gold coin donation, family friendly event is a fundraiser for the Nanango Sporting Association to help keep the sports grounds in tip-top shape and all pre-1988 vehicles and motorbikes from veteran to modern are very welcome to take part. The event will also feature food and a coffee van, information displays by local community groups plus lots and lots of great vehicles to inspect. There'll also be 15 separate trophies and prizes on offer for the day's winners (public voting will take place from 9:30am to 11:30am (bring a pen) and trophies will be presented around 1:00pm. Show & Shine entrants and stallholders need to pay $15 and be parked in the designated area from 6:00am to be ready for the gates opening to the public at 9:30am. There'll also be live entertainment on the grounds, plus free face painting and a jumping castle to keep young children amused while their parents view (and vote on) the entrants in this year's competition. Everyone is welcome!
47th Battalion Rugby League - Kingaroy
Day 2 of the 47th Battalion Rugby League Carnival at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Kingaroy. Eight men's teams and six women's teams in action. Come along and support the Burnett Brahmans and the Wide Bay Bulls. Admission is $5. Bar and canteen will be running.
Murgon CBD Markets
The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until about 12:00 noon today. The markets run on the second Sunday of each month and offer locally made crafts, foods and produce - always an interesting Sunday morning out. New stallholders are always welcome too! More details? Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Cooyar Hotel Markets
The new Cooyar Hotel Markets will be running in the grounds of the Cooyar Hotel on the New England Highway, Cooyar from 10:00am to around 2:00pm today. The markets feature Neil's fresh fruit and vegetables, market stalls, seafoods, coffee and hot foods, plus free face painting for children from 11:00am to 2:00pmn. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy

Winter Warmers Concert - Haly Creek
The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting the second (and final) peformance of their Winter Warmers Concert at Taabinga Homestead at 7 Old Taabinga Road in Haly Creek from 2:00pm this afternoon. The concert will feature heart-warming old favourites and new contemporary songs and tickets - which include afternoon tea - are just $15 per head (but U12s are free). They can be booked online or purchased at the door. Everyone is welcome!
Frosty Dingo Rally - Wondai
The third (and final) day of the three-day Frosty Dingo Rally will be held at the Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai today. The rally has been organised by the Leisure Riders Touring Motorcycle Club for motorcycle riders only and today's activities will largely feature hangovers and camping pack-ups. Entry is $25 per person with a badge, and no cars or glass are allowed.
Never Two Late - Linville
Entertainers Never Two Late will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 11:00am until 3:00pm this afternoon. The hotel's kitchen will also be operating from 11:00am for lunch and snacks and there's free camping across the road or paid accommodation at the pub if you want to stay overnight. More details? Sunday Roast Lunch - Wondai
Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai (opposite the Wondai Regional Art Gallery) will be hosting a $20 per head BYO Sunday roast lunch from 12:00 noon today featuring roast pork and vegetables (ie roast potatoes, roast pumpkin, cauliflower in cheese sauce, carrots and peas) with apple sauce and gravy followed by individual tropical pavlova, tea and coffee and - yes! - no washing up afterwards. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon.
