ALDI supermarkets have recalled American-Style Skinless Hot Dogs after pieces of bone were detected in some items.

The hot dogs were sold in 375g packs and have a Use By Date up to and including January 28, 2018.

According to ALDI’s notice, issued on Tuesday, the recall is due to potential microbial contamination as well as the presence of bone fragments.

Food products contaminated with microbial pathogens may cause illness if eaten. Foods containing foreign objects could also cause injury.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” an ALDI spokesperson said.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

“Customers should return the product(s) to their nearest ALDI Store for a full refund. ALDI Stores apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
