Aeromodellers from the Samford Valley, Ipswich, Maryborough and Dalby Clubs came to Kingaroy recently to take part in the third annual Flying Day hosted by the Kingaroy Aeromodellers Club.

Also present were members of the South Burnett community keen to see the aircraft in action.

This was the third annual open Flying Day that the Kingaroy Aeromodellers have held to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Several community members took the opportunity to introduce the next generation of possible fliers to the fast-growing family sport.

They had the opportunity of experiencing the adrenalin rush and thrill of a model aircraft in flight for the purchase of a $5 commemorative RFDS badge.

South Burnett councillor Danita Potter had a go at flying after officially opening the event.

A morning team followed the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
