North Burnett councillor Robbie Radel has put up his hand to stand for Katter’s Australian Party in Callide at the next State election.

Mr Radel was born in Biggenden and raised at Coalstoun Lakes.

He completed his education at Biggenden before owning and operating his own dairy farm.

“Living and working in Biggenden region my entire life and being a local councillor with a hands-on approach has equipped me with a knowledge of local issues concerning the community and wider region,” he said.

“There is disappointment with the major parties, and as a member of the KAP I feel I will be able to achieve a lot more in representing the region.”

Other candidates announced so far for Callide are Sharon Lohse (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Colin Boyce (LNP) and Darren Blackwood (ALP).

Voters should check which electorate they are now in, following boundary changes announced in February.

Many towns currently in Callide (eg. Wondai, Murgon, Cherbourg, Goomeri and Proston) have shifted into the Nanango electorate whereas Bell, Chinchilla, Jandowae and parts of the Bunya Mountains are now in Callide.
