An unusual new walking group that combines exercise and nutrition will be hitting the road in Kingaroy on Wednesday morning.

The new “Mums, Bubs, Nans & Prams” walking group is an initiative of the QCWA’s Country Kitchens.

Last year, the Country Kitchens program ran a popular series of courses in the South Burnett to teach participants how to prepare simple, healthy meals.

This year – or at least, every Wednesday morning for the next six weeks – Country Kitchens have combined forces with Integral Fitness Personal Training to provide a new option that combines fitness and nutrition.

Mothers and babies, and anyone else who wants to join in, should meet at the Kingaroy QCWA rooms at 122 Kingaroy Street at 9:00am this Wednesday (April 26).

The group will set off on a walk around town, returning in time for a gold coin donation morning tea at the QCWA between 10:00am and 10:30am.

Lois Thurecht, from Kingaroy QCWA, said the new walking program is a fun way to combine fitness with learning about good nutrition, and was also a good way to make new friends.

“Each walk is led by a local personal trainer, and it’s great to get out in the autumn weather this time of year.”
