South Burnett Regional Karaoke Sing Off judges Wayne Castle and Bob Monaghan had a very tough time last Friday night.

After a lot of deliberation and a few point recounts, the plucky pair managed to choose the first group of finalists for the Wondai Show Society’s new Regional Karaoke Sing-Off.

The four finalists – Anita Williams, Lyn Rodgers, Peter Salmon and John Woodward – will now be singing in the grand final at this year’s Wondai Show on Saturday, August 27.

They’ll be entertaining the crowds for a chance to win a share of the $2500 prize monies the competition is offering in the quest to find the South Burnett’s best karaoke singers.

Competition organisers Sue Bradley and Geoff Grevell congratulated all the entrants who competed in the first round, and thanked Wayne and Bob for the otherwise thankless task of picking just four people out of such a talented field.

They also thanked the Warana Hotel for donating a $20 voucher to the overall winner of the first heat, Lyn Rogers from Wondai.

“But it’s certainly not too late to enter the competition,” Sue said.

Heat 2 will be held at the Warana Hotel on Friday, July 8. Registrations will start at 6:00pm and the competition will start at 7:30pm sharp.

“Come and be part of the fun!”

Entrants who weren’t selected in Round 1 are also welcome to try again to win the hearts of the judges.
