Every dog has its day … except when they’re being shown at Nanango where they actually enjoyed two opportunities at the weekend to strut their stuff.

The Nanango and District All-Breeds Kennel Club hosted its second bi-yearly dog show for 2015 at the Nanango Showground at the weekend.

One competition ran all-day Friday with a second separate competition held on Saturday.

There were 410 dogs entered in the Friday show and 461 on Saturday.

The Best Exhibit In Show on  Friday was “Ace”, a Keeshond entered by Elliott Hickey, from Jimboomba.

Runner-up was “Keeper”, a Black Labrador, entered by Sandra Luchterhand, also from Jimboomba.

On Saturday, “Ace” and “Keeper” swapped spots, with the Black Labrador taking out the top ribbon, and the Keeshond coming in second place.

The Nanango club has two more big weekends coming up soon.

They will be holding Obedience Trials on October 10-11 at the Nanango Soccer Fields, and on October 24-25, they will be hosting a weekend workshop at the Nanango Showgrounds with dog trainer Samantha Hendricks.
