2016 Relay For Life - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's annual Relay For Life fundraiser will be held on the main oval at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Steet, Kingaroy from 3:00pm this afternoon right through until 9:00am tomorrow morning. The Captains Dinner earlier this year took the fundraising total for the South Burnett Relay For Life to more than $1 million for the decade - an amazing effort - but organisers are hoping to raise even more this weekend from the overnight walkathon. Spectators are very welcome to come along and cheer the walkers on as they march around the ring (and around... and around again...). The Relay's annual Candlelight Ceremony - held in remembrance of friends and relatives lost to cancer - will be held about 6:30pm this evening. There'll also be food and drink stalls in the grounds if you get hungry or thirsty.
Wooroolin Community Markets
The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Stall fees are just $5 and new stallholders are always welcome. More details? Phone Janice on 0439-073-160 or send her an email.
You Can't Beat The House - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the second performance of their latest production - the two-act comedy "You Can't Beat The House" - at the Nanango Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 7:00pm this evening (curtain goes up at 7:30pm). "You Can't Beat The House" is a comic farce concerning the misadventures of two hapless burglars who break into a house that's up for sale, and you can read more about this on our website. Tickets - which include supper at intermission - are $20 for adults and $15 for pensioners or students. They can be purchased in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in Henry Street, Nanango, or at the door before each performance, if not sold out. Note: Additional performances will be held at the same time and place next Friday and Saturday night. There'll also be a matinee performance at 1:30pm on Sunday, October 16.
Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today (ie opposite Bendigo Bank). The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held on the second Saturday of every month. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to book a stall yourself - it's only $5! - call Joe on (0459) 638-282

At 1:00pm there'll be a women's match, and this will be followed at 2:00pm with an A-grade clash that should really be something to see. Entry to the grounds is $5 (under-16s are free) and a canteen will be operating. Everyone is welcome!
Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall at 1867 Booie Road from 7:30pm until around 11:30pm tonight.
