South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Waterhole Rocks Festival - Nanango
The third (and final) day of the four-day Waterhole Rocks rock 'n' roll campout weekend will roar into life at the Nanango Showgrounds from early this morning and continue on until early this afternoon. The festival is devoted to all things associated with 1950s and 1960s rock 'n' roll. This includes hot rods, custom cars, vintage caravans, driving games and dance lessons, all backed up by red hot rock 'n' roll acts. Today the South Burnett's very own Elvis Jeff Hancox will be performing on stage from 9:00am until around 12:00 noon. There'll also be a "Show N Shine" happening on the main show ring at 9:00am, plus dance lessons until noon as well. A bar and canteen will be operating and admission today is completely free. Powered and unpowered campsites will be available at the Showgrounds for a nominal amount per night if you want to bunk down in the grounds. Everyone is welcome! More details? Proston President's Day
The Proston Bowls Club in Murphy Way at Proston will be holding their annual President's Day from 8:30am to around 3:00pm today. This is always a popular event and lawn bowlers from all the region's clubs are invited to put a team together and join in. Cooyar Trail Bike Ride
The second (and final) day of the annual Cooyar Trail Bike Ride - a fundraiser for the Cooyar State School P&C - will be held in and around the Cooyar Showgrounds on the Cooyar Rangemore Road, Cooyar today. Events will kick off with a compulsory rider briefing at 8:15am, followed by riding around the loop from 8:30am to 1:00pm. If you're a participant, an MQ Day Licence will set you back $10 and entry fees are $65 in the Open class, $40 for Sunday riders only, $20 for Novices or $10 for Pee Wees, but spectators are welcome to come watch the action for free. There'll also be free on-site camping in the grounds on Friday and Saturday (with showers and toilets), but you'll need to BYO water and lights, and glass and dogs are forbidden. You Can't Beat The House (Final) - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the fifth and final performance of their latest production - the two-act comedy "You Can't Beat The House" - at the Nanango Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 7:00pm this evening (curtain goes up at 7:30pm). "You Can't Beat The House" is a comic farce concerning the misadventures of two hapless burglars who break into a house that's up for sale, and you can read more about this on our website. Tickets - which include supper at intermission - are $20 for adults and $15 for pensioners or students. They can be purchased in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in Henry Street, Nanango, or at the door before each performance, if not sold out.
Sunday Social Bowls - Yarraman
The Yarraman Bowls Club in Margaret Street, Yarraman will be hosting their regular Sunday social bowls games from 1:00pm this afternoon. Teams will be club selected and new players are very welcome! More details from the club: (07) 4163-8269.

The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. South Burnett Tabletop Gamers - Kingaroy
South Burnett Tabletop Gamers is a small but passionate tabletop games club servicing the South Burnett. Members' core interests usually cover a wide range of board, card and miniatures games, but the group is always on the lookout for new games to play. The main systems current members do play include Warhammer 40k/30k (Games Workshop), Mordheim, 9th Age, Batman Miniatures Game (Knight Models), Infinity (Corvus Belli), Star Wars X-Wing (Fantasy Flight), Magic the Gathering (Wizards), Pokemon TCG, Wrath of Kings (Cool Mini or Not) and a variety of other board games. The group meets at the 1913 Council Chambers behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street, Kingaroy every second Sunday from 10:00am until around 4:00pm. More details? A Car Boot Sale, Market Stalls and Car Wash will be held in front of the Adventist Church at 200 Youngman Street in Kingaroy from 7:00am to 1:00pm today. The monthly Nanango Home Produce Share will be held in the grounds of Ringsfield House at 45 Alfred Street, Nanango from 9:00am to about 10:30am this morning. The share is for people who have excess home produce they would like to swap or gift to others (non-food items can also be swapped) and it has been organised by the South Burnett Permaculture group.
