South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kumbia Community Dinner-Dance
The Kumbia Progress Association will be hosting a Dinner Dance at the Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia from 5:00pm until late tonight (dinner will be served at 6:00pm). The dinner dance will feature a great two-course buffet dinner prepared by J.C. Catering, live music by Arthur Nettelfield, and the chance to win a share of $1000 in lucky door prizes. This is a free event for Kumbia and district residents but numbers are strictly limited so an RSVP by October 21 is essential: (07) 4164-4171 or send an email with the number of people attending (as well as the ages of children you're bringing along, if applicable).
Connections Craft Group - Kingaroy
The Connections Craft Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 12 noon this morning. Members are welcome to bring their own craft project, or join in an activity the group is doing. Everyone is welcome and morning tea is provided for a gold coin donation. More details? Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Seniors Having A Ball - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Seniors Having A Ball" exercise class from 8:30am to 9:30am this morning. The program is designed to address the issues that many have with ageing and it's not just for seniors! It provides light exercise to keep the heart and joints moving, improving coordination and mobility. It also provides a beginner platform to start any fitness activity on. As well as physical fitness, it also has a fun social atmosphere too. The class fee is just $4 for PCYC members or $7 for non-members. More details? Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). Friday Afternoon Scroungers - Nanango

Art Workshop - Blackbutt
An art workshop with well-known artist Cary "Gus" McAulay will be held at Nukku Nook at the end of Hart Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 6:00pm this afternoon. The focus of the workshop will be on creating designs and artworks for the Stanwell Connecting Heart to Hart Project, where your painting will be transferred to a ceramic tile that will become part of the Scott Haven community space and gardens. All art materials are provided for today's workshop, including a mini canvas for your painting that you get to keep. Cost is a suggested donation of $25 and is 100% tax deductible, but places are limited. You can book one by phoning Melanie on 0417-634-981 by Monday, October 24.
Circuit Fitness Class - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a Circuit Fitness Class from 4:30pm to 5:30pm this afternoon in their upstairs fitness studio. The class provides a great workout that will help increase strength as well as give you great cardio exercise, and the class fee is just $7 for PCYC members or $15 for non-members. More details? Pink Ribbon Breakfast - Murgon
Alicia's Spa and Hair Worx, Carney's Feed Store and CROW-FM 90.7 will be jointly hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast at 129 Lamb Street, Murgon from 7:00am to 10:00am this morning as a fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The brekkie will be offering a sausage sizzle with pink bread, pink cupcakes, pink tattoos and pink hairspray for $2 each; and pink fingernails and toenails for $5. There'll also be a 100 number board and a "guess the number of lollies in the jar" competition, and CROW-FM will be broadcasting live from the site. Everyone is welcome!
Halloween Party With Cosmic Blue - Nanango

South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding their monthly meeting at Mal and Julie's home at 3 Belle Street in Kingaroy from 6:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting will focus on a blind tasting of three reds and three whites where guests will be asked to rate the wines from least to most expensive (and also learn if there is really any connection between price and quality). The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers all wine tastings and nibbles. More details? Watercolour Workshops - Nanango
The Winds Of Change Art Gallery in George Street, Nanango will be holding a Watercolour Workshop with visiting artist Shona Nicholls today (as well as Saturday, Sunday and Monday). The workshop is for beginner and intermediate watercolourists, and the $35 fee includes all materials and morning tea (BYO lunch). Wood Sculpting Workshop - Blackbutt
Acclaimed wood sculptor Shane Christensen will be holding a woodworking workshop at the Timbertowns Woodworkers Shed at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 10:30am to 3:00pm today. Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
