Christmas In The Park - Yarraman
- The Yarraman & District Progress Association Inc will be celebrating Christmas in Errol Munt Park from 4:00pm to 8:00pm today. There'll be a jumping castle and slides, live music, market stalls, food and drink stalls, face painting for the kids plus a visit from Santa in his sleigh! Christmas carols will start at 7:00pm. A licensed bar will also be operating.
Kilkivan Community Christmas Carnival
- The annual Kilkivan Community Christmas Carnival will be held from 6:00pm tonight at Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road. There'll food trucks, face painting, a DJ and a licensed bar plus Santa will be dropping in! This is a free community event.
Nanango Christmas Country Markets
- The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but the pre-Christmas markets are always huge! The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south-east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Christmas Dance - Inverlaw Hall
- A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. Music will be supplied from CDs and there'll be the usual supper and novelty dances, along with a raffle. Admission fees are $10.00 for adults and $5 for high school students and everyone is welcome! Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 8:30am to 11:00am and Devonshire teas will be available on the verandah for $10.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am. House inspections are by donation (children free) or free if you've bought a Devonshire tea!
Murgon RSL Sub-Branch Meeting

Beef It Up, Master It All - Wattle Grove
- Come along to the annual gala at The Washpool on Half Mile Creek Road, Wattle Grove, from 4:30pm today, enjoy dinner and listen to local "masters" in their fields. Guest speakers tonight include Gavin Carr (Carrdoon Working dogs); Mary O'Brien ('Are You Bogged Mate?'); Matt Lonsdale; Jason Kinsella (Moffatdale Ridge Winery); Dan, Theresa and Joe Allen; Tony Dugdell and Chloe Plowman (Ruby Ridge Angus). Murgon Men's Shed
- The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. Saturday Cricket
- Junior and senior cricket games will be played in the South Burnett today. In South Burnett Junior Cricket Stage 2, Tingoora Moppets v Kingaroy at Tingoora Sportsground; Kingaroy Cobras v Nanango Scorpions at Taabinga State School; and Murgon v Central Burnett at Murgon Showgrounds. In Stage 3, Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy at Murgon Showgrounds. All junior games start at 8:00am. Rounds 3 & 4 of the South Burnett Senior T20 competition will be played today. Round 3 games start at 11:30am: Kingaroy Services v Tingoora Vikings at Taabinga State School; Wondai Wolves v Nanango Scorpions at Wondai Sports Ground; and Wooroolin Warriors v Tingoora Huntsmen at Kingaroy State School. Round 4 games start at 3:00pm: Tingoora Vikings v Nanango Scorpions at Taabinga State School; Wooroolin Warriors v Kingaroy Services at Kingaroy State School; and Wondai Wolves v Tingoora Huntsmen at Wondai Sports Ground.
Kingaroy Men's Shed
- The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 8:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
Wondai Parkrun
- The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join.
