Christmas Festival - Blackbutt
- Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club will be hosting a family-friendly Christmas celebration at Blackbutt Showgrounds from 5:30pm to 8:00pm this evening. There'll be competitions (Best Dressed Family, Best Decorated Pushbike), a jumping castle, face-painting, market stalls, raffles, carols, fireworks and ... a visit by Santa! A licensed bar will also be open.
Nanango Kennel Club

Family Movie Night - Nanango
- South Burnett CTC's Nanango Neighbourhood Centre will be hosting a Christmas Family Movie Night from 6:00pm this evening, in partnership with Nanango Lions Club. RSVP by December 2 by email. BYO picnic blanket and snacks (but no alcohol or pets).
Mayor's Community Christmas Lunch - Kingaroy
- The annual Mayor's Community Christmas Lunch will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from noon today (when doors open) to around 2:00pm this afternoon. The lunch is a fundraiser for the region's disadvantaged families, providing them with food vouchers at Christmas. Guest speaker today will be well-known vocalist Julee-anne Bell. In addition to a great lunch prepared by the QCWA there'll also be live entertainment plus raffles. Tickets are just $25 per head and they can be booked online or obtained from any of the South Burnett Regional Council's Customer Service Centres.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
- Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery, on the roundabout at Wondai, will be opening in December and January exhibition, "A Brush With Friends", this evening. It features works by Christine Hopkins, Muriel Patterson and Lois Ward. Wondai State School will be in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening, from 6:00pm, will also feature hot and cold finger foods and punch, glasses of wine available from Clovely Estate, live music and lots of fun socialising. Friday Social Golf & Dinner - Proston
- The Proston Golf Club, on Brigooda Road, Proston, will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Cold beer and snacks will also be available at the clubhouse from noon, and the club's very popular Friday night dinner will be running after 5:30pm. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
