Seafood Sunday - Bunya Mountains
If you're looking for something great to do this weekend, Lyrics Restaurant at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains - just behind the Bunya Mountains General Store - will be holding their monthly "Seafood Sunday" from 11:00am onwards today (lunch will be served from around noon). The fully-licensed restaurant will be offering a 100% fresh seafood a-la-carte menu, serving seafoods obtained from the coast yesterday - and be warned! The serving sizes are h-u-g-e. Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will also be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas (as well as Seafood Sunday at Lyrics licensed restaurant - see entry above), and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park.
South Burnett Orchid Society Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular last Sunday of the month meeting at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm onwards this aftenoon. The Society exists for orchid enthusiasts of all skill levels, and new members and visitors are always very welcome. More details? Sunday Afternoon Music - Wondai
The Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai will be holding a relaxed Sunday afternoon of live music from 11:30am onwards today. Lunch and dinner will be available in the Cellar's restaurant and pizzas will be availble on the rear deck too. More details from the Cellars on (07) 4168-5274.
Maidenwell Car Boot Sales And Market Stalls
If you're heading up to the Bunya Mountains today, go via Maidenwell and you can browse the new Maidenwell Car Boot Sales And Market Stalls at the Maidenwell Sportsgrounds (just next to the Rural Fire Brigade HQ in the heart of town). These markets offer car boot sales plus a variety of market stalls selling various goods and wares, including food and produce. Stallholder/Car boot fees are just $10 each, payable on day, and all proceeds go to the Maidenwell Community Group for the development of the township. Rock & Roll Dance Lessons - Nanango
Rock & Roll Dance Lessons will be held at the Heritage Pavilion inside Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street at 1:00pm this afternoon. The cost for a 2-hour lesson is $10 and beginners are very welcome. Classes are held fortnightly. More details? Phone Sue on 0418-759-330.

The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kingaroy RSL will be holding its Annual General Meeting in the club's Tobruk Room at 9:30am this morning (entry is via the doors on the cinema side of the club). All members are encouraged to attend.
Barambah Bowhunters Fun Day - Nanango
The Barambah Bowhunters and Field Archers Association will be holding a Fun Day at their clubhouse and archery range on Bowhunters Road off the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning - just perfect for anyone who'd like to try archery out. If you're coming you'll need to wear enclosed footwear, but bows can be borrowed from the club for the morning at no charge if you don't have your own, and free coaching is available too.
Nanango RSL AGM
The Nanango RSL will be holding its Annual General Meeting at Taras Hall at 26 Henry Street, Nanango at 9:30am this morning. All members are encouraged to attend.
Kingaroy Cricket & Sports Club Re-Opening
The Kingaroy Cricket & Sports Club at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy will be holding a Grand Reopening party from 1:00pm onwards today to celebrate its recent refurbishments. Popular entertainer Liam Parsons will be providing live music; there'll be a free jumping castle for kids; and lots of promotions, giveaways and fun activities. The club will also be debuting its new lunch menu, which features a few things never seen in Kingaroy before. Everyone is welcome!
Open Mic Jam Session - Kingaroy

The annual Nanango Campdraft will be held at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from 6:00amearly this morning through until late this afternoon. There'll be two drafts - a Novice and the Heritage Community Bank Open Draft - and a bar and canteen will be operating all day. Admission is 100% free for spectators and everyone is welcome.
