CROW-FM 90.7 On-Air Auction For Charlotte The Emu
The Charlotte The Emu Memorial Committee and CROW-FM 90.7 will be holding an on-air auction on The Brekky Show between 6:00am and 9:00am this morning to help raise the final funds the committee needs to erect a permanent steel sculpture memorial to Wondai's beloved (and now departed) town emu. There'll be a great range of items up for grabs including dinners, family photo shoots, jewellery, artwork ... even a rare and valuable original Beatles tea-towel from the 1960s. And if the Emu Memorial Comittee cross their fund-raising line, you can expect to hear some very loud noises too. Tune in for fun or make a bid or both - it's what the South Burnett is really all about! Blue Light Disco - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their second monthly U18s Blue Light Disco for 2015 at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 8:00pm tonight. Friday Night Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
7 Sopranos - Kingaroy
The 7 Sopranos will be performing in concert at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 7:30pm this evening. Tickets are $60 for adults or $55 for concessions. Tickets can be booked by phoning 1300 762-545 or online.
Blackbutt History Morning
The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding a History Morning at Nukku Nook opposite the skate park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 9:30am to around 12:00 noon this morning. The focus of this month's meeting will be guest speaker Graham Gilliland from Brisbane, who will be speaking to Phil Dunn, founder of the RAAF Roulettes. The morning is free and a great cuppa will be available for a gold coin donation. Everyone is welcome to come along and interact with long-time residents of the Blackbutt and Benarkin districts! Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Comunity Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. 15th Annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering
The 15th annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering will get underway around 6:00pm this evening at the Maidenwell Hotel in Maidenwell, starting a weekend-long party that won't conclude until Sunday evening, March 15. The Folk Gathering is a pure folk music event (ie fully acoustic - no electrics are allowed) and because of this has built up a very loyal following over the years. Last year the Gathering attracted in excess of 200 people with virtually zero publicity and organisers are hoping for an even bigger crowd this year. The Festival itself is completely free to attend and there's also free camping available around the hotel if you want to stay overnight. Lots of great food will be available too but no BYO is allowed - you'll need to get your supplies from the Maidenwell Hotel if you want to party hard. More details? Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). The Wondai & District Garden Club will be holding its monthly meeting at Cath and Kevin Routledge's residence at 217 Lysdale Road, Wondai at 9:30am this morning (meeting starts at 10:00am). Potential new members are always welcome, but please bring your own chair, cup and plate of morning tea.
Too Ezy Unplugged - Kingaroy

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
