Jungle Juice - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting the third performance of their new theatre-restaurant show "Jungle Juice" at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy (opposite SupaIGA) at 7:00pm tonight. Jungle Juice tells the story of a plane carrying two rock stars and a reporter that crashes on an island which has a severe man shortage. The result is a zany tropical cocktail of melodrama and music, somewhere between Brigadoon and The Gods Must be Crazy. Tickets to the show - which include a two course dinner - are $40 and need to be booked online. Note: One further performances will be held at the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre tomorrow night.
Art With Lyn - Nanango
Creative Connections at 8 George Street in Nanango will be hosting art classes with artist Lyn Felsman from 10:00am to 1:00pm today. Tuition fees are $15 per person - which includes morning tea - and participants should BYO art supplies and project. To book, phone Lyn on 0421-679-258.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Cuppa And Chat Group - Kingaroy
The Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am this afternoon. As the name suggests, members enjoy a cuppa and biscuits baked in the community kitchen, and simply chat about whatever interests them. More details? Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games on the third green at the rear of the Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 3:00pm this afternoon. The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding their latest monthly meeting at Ted and Maxine's home at 4 Jubilee Street in Kingaroy from 6:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting will look at red and white wines from Chile. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers all wine tastings and nibbles. More details? Overs 60s Free Lunch RSVP Deadline
Today is the last day Timbertowns residents can RSVP to secure a seat at the Blackbutt-Benarkin Lions Club's annual Over 60s Free Lunch on Wednesday, November 29 (see entry that day for all details).
BDTHA End Of Year Excursion To Murgon And Wondai
The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association (BDTHA) will be running an end of year excursion to Murgon and Wondai today. A bus will leave the Blackbutt Visitor Information Centre in Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt at 7:30am (pickups will also occur in Yarraman and Nanango) for an 8:45am morning tea at Yallakool on BP Dam, followed by a visit to the Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum in Murgon at 9:30am, then lunch at the Murgon Services Club around noon. At 1:00pm, guests will visit the Wondai Heritage Museum followed by the South Burnett Timber Industry Museum, before afternoon tea at 4:00pm and then the trip back to Blackbutt, arriving around 5:30pm. All inclusive tickets are $50 per head but they need to be booked by Friday November 17 for catering purposes. Everyone is welcome! More details? Bookings? BMRG AGM - Kingaroy
The Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) will be holding their Annual General Meeting at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 9:30am to 12:30pm this morning. The AGM will provide the opportunity to meet BMRG's new board and hear about the group's accomplishments over the previous year, and all interested people are welcome to attend. Lunch will be available at the end of the AGM, but to help plan the catering an RSVP is required. You can make one by phoning (07) 4181-2999 or by email.
Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
