2018 Reconciliation Fun RunThe 5th annual Reconciliation Fun Run will be run between Murgon and Cherbourg this morning, kicking off with registrations at 7:00am at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street and proceeding at 8:00am along the highway and Cherbourg Road (which will be closed to traffic for the event) to the Ration Shed Museum at Barambah Avenue in Cherbourg. This year's Fuyn Run wiull be offering two extra courses in addition to the 7km course - a 10km one that will also start at the Murgon Showgrounds, and a more leisurely 3km course that will start outside thje Ration Shed (so you'll need to be at Cherbourg by 7:45am before the road is closed). The Fun Run will be followed by a day of games, foods, dance, music, stalls, workshops and displays. The Reconciliation Fun Run is open to everyone, from school children to adults, older people, families, people with disabilities, sporting clubs or corporate/workplace teams. All courses can be run, walked or travelled in a pram or wheelchair. The aim of the day is for participants and spectators to have fun. Nanango & District Camera Club Portrait Workshop
The Nanango & District Camera Club will be holding their annual Portrait Workshop at Ringsfield House at 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango from 1:00pm today. This popular annual event offers photographers an afternoon of expert tuition and tips about how to shoot great portrait photos in all types of lighting and weather conditions using digital cameras. This year's workshop will be led by experienced professional photographers Gerard and Graham Burstow, from Toowoomba, and there'll be three live models to practice on. Anyone with a digital camera is welcome and the cost of the workshop is just $20 for Nanango Camera Club members, $25 for members of other camera clubs or $30 for non-members. Open Mic Afternoon At The Fitzroy - Nanango
The Fitzroy Hotel in Fitzroy Street, Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 2:00pm to around 6:30pm this afternoon, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - perform up to 25 minutes of originals or covers. All PAs, guitars and drums will be provided by Mr Q. - The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. Taromeo Country Music Club Social - Blackbutt
The Taromeo Country Music Club will be holding their third bi-monthly Sunday social for 2018 at the Blackbutt Golf Club in Langton Road, Blackbutt from 10:00am to around 4:00pm today. Entertainment will be provided by the visiting and guest artists. There'll also be multi-draw raffles, a money board, a licensed bar, plenty of food and refreshments and - of course! - lots of great country music and dancing. Admission is still only $5 with bottomless tea or coffee and and free afternoon tea as well. Lunch will also be available for a small charge. Everyone is welcome!

Public Consultation Meetings - Blackbutt and Nanango
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding two public consultation meetings in Blackbutt and Nanango today to discuss its draft Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Plan, which recommends "rationalising" a number of the region's parks. The Blackbutt meeting will be held at the Bunya Nut Cafe in Coulson Street from 10:00am to noon; and the Nanango meeting will be held at Ringsfield House at 41-45 Alfred Street from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The full plan can be downloaded from Council's website (12Mb PDF) but if you don't have time to wade through all 113 pages, its recommendations for Blackbutt-Benarkin are on pages 78-81; and Nanango parks slated for action are on pages 64-65. The Council has said it will not consider any inputs that aren't made in writing, but if you object to any particular recommendation you can obtain the official two page Feedback form from Council's website. Nanango Show & Shine
- A big Show & Shine will be held at Stags Oval off the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango's CBD from 9:00am to 2:00pm today (gates open at 6:00am for competitors). There'll be 17 trophies up for grabs for competitors in categories ranging from beautiful classic cars to current models and motorcycles. There'll also be stalls, a jumping castle and an ice cream van in the grounds, along with a display of ex-Army vehicles and a canteen providing tasty hot food and cold drinks. Kumbia Museum
