Free Movie & Dinner Night - Nanango
Heritage Community Branch Nanango and the Nanango Men's Shed are sponsoring two free screenings of the award-winning movie, "Just A Farmer" this week in Nanango. The movie portrays the challenges and triumphs of life in rural Australia. Today's event will be held from 4:30pm to 9:00pm at the Nanango Cultural Centre in Drayton Street. There'll be a free dinner served beforehand and a lucky door prize. The mastermind behind the movie (and co-star) Leila McDougall will introduce the film and hold a Q&A session afterwards. She'll be joined by Kingaroy local Eddie Sloan, from Rural and Remote Mental Health. "Just A Farmer" is rated M (15 ) but the whole family is welcome to come along as there will be supervised children's activities happening. NB. Tomorrow's event will be for over 15s only. NaTDA Meeting - Nanango
- CANCELLED The Nanango Tourism and Development Association meets from 5:00pm (for a 5:30pm start) on the third Thursday of every month in the Long Hai Room at the Nanango RSL Club in Henry Street. NaTDA aims to assist, foster, instigate and/or manage any project that could contribute to the advancement of the communities in and around Nanango, and represents the interests of the Nanango community, business and tourism operators. All interested people are very welcome to come along and get involved! Afterwards, the meeting will be followed by an optional social dinner at the RSL's bistro.
RU OK March - Cherbourg
The Cherbourg Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) group will be holding an RU OK Community March this morning in Cherbourg. The march will begin at 9:30am at Cherbourg State School and will head to Anzac Memorial Park in Barambah Avenue where there will be a sausage sizzle.
Toastmasters - Kingaroy
- South Burnett Toastmasters will be meeting in the Anzac Room of Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 6:45pm (for a 7:00pm start) this evening. - A social morning of knitting, crocheting (or any other craft) will be held at Mondure Hall, in McConnell Way, from 9:00am to noon this morning. - The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low-income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $50 or $35 options to select food and the other items.
