South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Country Festival
The third (and final) day of the three-day 2026 Kilkivan Great Horse Ride will get under way at 7:00am this morning at the Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road. There'll be bush poetry the Campdraft Bar followed by Ranch Sorting from 7:30am in the Campdraft Arena and novelty events in the Indoor Arena. The Kicking Up Dust Youth Talent Quest will begin on the Main Stage at 9:00am. A Cent Auction will be held at the Campdraft Bar at 11:00am. Live music with will start at 7:45am with the Kilkivan Choir and David Lee from 11:30am. The novelty Sausage Dog Dash will be held near the Campdraft Bar at 11:30am. Wondai Autumn Garden Expo
Day 2 of the weekend long Wondai Autumn Garden Expo will be held at the Wondai Showgrounds in Kent Street, Wondai (note the change of venue!) from 8:00am to 1:00pm today. The Expo is one of the largest gardening shows of its type in south-east Queensland and always draws hundreds of keen gardeners every Autumn. As well as a huge range of plant and garden-related product displays, the Expo will also feature a number of guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening topics throughout the day. There'll be plenty of food and drink available, too. Admission is $5 per day or a two-day pass for $8 (under 15s free). Murgon Sunday Markets
The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street, in the heart of Murgon, from 7:00am until about 12:00 noon today. The markets run on the second Sunday of each month and offer locally made crafts, foods and produce - always an interesting Sunday morning out. New stallholders are always welcome too! More details? Youth Movie Night - Nanango
A free movie night for local youth will be held from 5:30pm to 8:00pm this evening at the Pioneer Park Amphitheatre in Nanango (near Drayton Street). The movie is the award-winning romantic comedy "(500) Days of Summer". There'll be free snacks and drinks available. No booking is required, just BYI chair or blanket!
A Rollicking Romp With Gilbert & Sullivan - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Singers are hosting the Esk Community Choir in a romp through Gilbert & Sullivan classic songs from 2:30pm today (doors open at 2:00pm) at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, Blackbutt. Tickets are $20 (under 12s free) at the door (EFTPOS available), which includes morning tea!
Spanish Lunch - Bunya Mountains
The Bunya Mountains Community Association will hosting a Spanish Luncheon from noon today at the Russell Park Day Use Area. Delicious paella and Spanish desserts will be served. Cost is $15. RSVP by SMS to 0420-069-613.

The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Wondai Community Share
A Wondai Community Share will be held from 2:00pm this afternoon at Dingo Creek Park on the Bunya Highway north of the Wondai CBD>. Bring along any excess fruit, vegetables, baked goods or other household items you have to swap with others for things you need, or simply to give away. Everyone is welcome!
Free Sunday Lunch - Kingaroy
A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
