South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Country Festival
Day 2 of the three-day 2026 Kilkivan Great Horse Ride will get under way at 8:00am this morning with a working dog demonstration in the indoor arena at Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road. At 8:30am, there'll be briefings in the muster area for riders taking part in the Wongella Ride. Cobb & Co coach rides will be available between 9:00am and 3:00pm (tickets at the bar). At 9:30am, there will be a Light Horse demonstration in the Campdraft Arena followed by Alex Kelly Horsemanship's "Life After Racing" in the Indoor Arena from 12:45pm. At 10:00am, Heavy Horses will feature in the Campdraft Arena and there will will be a blacksmithing display near the bar. Working dogs will begin at 11:00am in the Indoor Arena. Bendele Trail riders will depart at 1:00pm.There will be a whip-cracking demonstration at 1:30pm near the bar. A highlight of the weekend will be the Main Street Parade which will start at 4:00pm. On the main stage, entertainment will be provided by the Nashville Road Band between 10:00am and 1:00pm and Hannah Rose from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Trevor Knight will perform a special 40th Anniversary Song at 4:00pm. The Open Season Band will be on the main stage from 7:00pm until DJ Grizzly Adams takes over at 10:00pm. Children's activities will be taking place throughout the day. The KilkiVan shuttle bus will operate from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Kilkivan Country Markets
Markets will be held in Kilkivan's main street from 10:00am today, running in conjunction with the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Country Festival. The markets will wrap up just before the Main Street horse parade at 4:00pm.
Wondai Autumn Garden Expo
The first day of the weekend long Wondai Autumn Garden Expo will be held at the Wondai Showgrounds in Kent Street, Wondai (note the change of venue!) from 8:00am to 4:30pm today. The Expo is one of the largest gardening shows of its type in south-east Queensland and always draws hundreds of keen gardeners every Autumn. As well as a huge range of plant and garden-related product displays, the Expo will also feature a number of guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening topics throughout the day. There'll be plenty of food and drink available, too. Admission is $5 per day or a two-day pass for $8 (under 15s free). Nature Talk - Bunya Mountains
The Bunya Mountains Natural History Association will be hosting a public talk from 10:45am today at Cedarvale Museum at Dandabah. Environmental scientist Dr John Neldner will be discussing the Extinction Risk to Queensland's Flora and Fauna and there'll be a Q&A at the end of his presentation. The talk will follow the association's quarterly meeting which will start at 9:30am.
Colour Xplosion Fun Run - Murgon
To help celebrate Youth Week, South Burnett PCYC has organised a free colour run/walk today. Young people (and their family members) have been invited to gather at the corner of Macalister Street and Schultz Crossing in Murgon this morning. Registrations open at 9:00am and the run/walk starts at 9:30am. A 6km round return course will be set up along the South Burnett Rail Trail. Volunteers will be at each station to help spread the fun (and colour!). There'll also be a free barbecue at the finish line from 10:30am. More info? Contact the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889.
GOMA Kids On Tour - Wondai
Wondai Regional Art Gallery will be hosting a GOMA Kids On Tour hands-on art workshop from 10:30am to 1:00pm today at The Studio (beside the gallery). Parents are welcome to come along, too, but bookings are essential! Phone (07) 4168-5926.
Clare Cowley - Nanango
Brisbane folk singer Clare Cowley will be performing from 7:00pm this evening at Nanango Theatre Company's Opera House on the corner of George and Elk streets, Nanango. The evening is a fundraiser for the Nanango Theatre Company. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for concessions and can be booked online.
Yarraman Men's Shed
The Yarraman Men's Shed at the end of Mill Street, Yarraman will be holding one of its regular get-togethers from 8:00am to noon today. The Men's Shed is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and new members are always welcome. More details? Send them an email
Nanango Men's Shed

The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 8:00am to 11:00am today. The group meets every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Saturday Night Bingo - Kingaroy

Inverlaw Hall Dance
CANCELLED A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening. The band will be Chattanooga. There'll be the usual supper and novelty dances, along with a Lucky Door draw and a raffle. Admission fees are $12.00 for adults and $5 for high school students and everyone is welcome! More details?
