Funding for almost $10.4 million worth of roadworks in the South Burnett region was announced in the recent State Budget.

Projects include:

  • D’Aguilar Highway (sections between Yarraman and Kingaroy) – more than $8.3 million for intersection improvements, overtaking lanes, widening and sealing, new signage and pavement rehabilitation
  • Kingaroy-Cooyar Road – works valued at $691,000
  • Maidenwell-Bunya Mountains Road – $400,000 for reshaping and sealing (works scheduled for 2012/13)
  • Burnett Highway (between Nanango and Goomeri) – $300,000 for heavy vehicle parking area
  • Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road – $700,000 for rehabilitation

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the State Government was investing heavily in the South Burnett’s road network.

“Through the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program, some major works are scheduled for our region this year and through to 2016,” she said.
