Police have arrested and charged a 12-year-old boy after multiple break-ins in Murgon between Sunday and Tuesday, including one where a woman was allegedly assaulted.

It will be alleged the boy broke into two homes at Murgon about 8:30pm on Sunday, taking personal items.

About 11:30pm on Monday, the same boy allegedly broke into a house at South Murgon, threatened a woman and struck her multiple times.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Then just after 1:00am on Tuesday, the boy allegedly broke into a business in Lamb Street and stole a number of items, before fleeing again.

Officers arrested the boy after executing a search warrant at an address on December 5.

He faces multiple charges, including entering a dwelling with intent, entering a dwelling and commit, attempted robbery and stealing.

His case was mentioned in Murgon Children’s Court on Wednesday. Police opposed bail.

Police will allege that about 8:20am on Monday, a 17-year-old girl entered a business in Avoca Street, Kingaroy, took a number of items and walked out without paying.

When she was approached by a staff member, she allegedly hit the woman with a “wet floor” sign that was nearby, before fleeing the scene.

The girl has been charged with robbery with violence.

Her case was mentioned in Kingaroy Children’s Court on Tuesday. Police also opposed bail.
