Thirty more confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the South Burnett over the past two days.

Ten new cases were reported on Thursday in statistics released by Queensland Health, and 20 on Friday.

This takes the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the South Burnett Regional Council area to 972 since the pandemic began.

When the borders reopened on December 13 there had been just three confirmed cases in the South Burnett.

Queensland Health reported 10,722 new cases across the State on Friday afternoon, taking the total number of known active cases to 59,300.

A total of 403 people are in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19, including 14 in intensive care.

Five more deaths were reported, taking the Queensland toll since the pandemic began to 740.
