FLASHBACK: Val McGrath and her husband Noel performing at a function in Blackbutt

December 6, 2020

UPDATE: This meeting was cancelled late on Monday after a storm passed through the region.

A meeting will be held at the 1913 Council Chambers in Edward Street, Kingaroy, on Monday night (December 7) to discuss the inaugural Festival Of Cultures.

The festival was originally scheduled to be held for for the first time in April this year, but like so much else was cancelled due to COVID.

Planning is now under way for the 2021 event.

The meeting, which will begin at 5:00pm, is being hosted by the South Burnett Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation but everyone has been invited to come along and be involved in this multicultural event.

“Come along and bring a friend!” organiser Val McGrath said.

The Festival Of Cultures received an $8000 State Government “Celebrating Multicultural Queensland” grant last year to assist with organising the festival.

This was re-announced last week and will be put towards this year’s event.
