Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk unveiled her new Cabinet on Wednesday – a mix of old and new faces.
The Premier said the ministry reflected the importance of powering Queensland’s economic recovery and the continued health response.
It also establishes a Minister for Hydrogen, recognising the importance of this valuable new energy source, and a Minister for Water.
The three new members of Cabinet are Member for Townsville Scott Stewart, Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard and Member for Gaven Meaghan Scanlon.
They replace three Ministers who retired at the State election.
There has also been a reshuffle of portfolios.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles has relinquished Health to become Minister for State Development, Local Government, Infrastructure and Planning.
Treasurer Cameron Dick adds Investment to his portfolio.
Yvette D’Ath will become the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services.
Shannon Fentiman has been appointed Attorney-General.
The Premier said she expected her Ministers to focus squarely on Queensland’s economic recovery and providing the services all Queenslanders – including seniors and those in regional Queensland – need.
“Queenslanders expect us to get on with implementing our Economic Recovery Plan,” the Premier said.
“They expect the roads, schools and hospitals we need and the jobs that go with building them.
“It is our job to get on with the job and that’s exactly what we will do.”
Parliament will resume in the final week of November followed by budget sittings in December.
Budget Estimates hearings will be conducted prior to Christmas
