One Nation candidate for Nanango Tony Scrimshaw has invited farmers to attend a “Property Rights Forum” in Nanango on October 10.

The forum is being organised by Senator Malcolm Roberts, from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party.

A guest speaker will be Charleville grazier Dan McDonald.

Mr McDonald was prosecuted by the Department of Natural Resources in 2017 after he pushed over 1800ha of mulga on his property.

He was ordered to pay fines and costs of $112,000.

Senator Roberts said the forum would cover “how the destruction of property rights has criminalised farmers and why farmers need restoration or compensation”.

The free forum will be held from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the Nanango Cultural Centre but bookings are required.
