A fourth candidate has tossed her hat in the ring to challenge Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington for the seat of Nanango at the October 31 State election.

Goomeri resident Maggie O’Rance will be launching her campaign for the Legalise Cannabis Queensland party at the Nanango Markets on Saturday.

The former nurse says she uses cannabis to treat a medical condition but has twice been charged with cannabis possession offences.

She says on the first occasion she was found guilty but no conviction was recorded and on the second, the charges were withdrawn.

Ms O’Rance says she cannot afford “the ridiculously high cost of imported legally prescribed cannabis medicine” to treat her condition which has forced her to turn to the illegal market.

She is now campaigning for the right to home-grow and self-supply cannabis in Queensland.
