The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a boy to hospital after a quad bike crash on a private property, north of Crows Nest.

It’s believed the primary school-aged boy had been attempting to perform a jump when he crashed.

He suffered head and abdominal injuries.

The helicopter was despatched to the scene, in the Pierces Creek area, about 11:30am.

The aeromedical crew joined QAS paramedics in treating and stabilising the patient, before he was transferred to the waiting helicopter.

The boy was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
