Fire crews quickly contained a grassfire which broke out on Thursday afternoon near River Road in Kingaroy.

Emergency services were called just after 4:00pm to the blaze, which briefly blocked traffic on the road.

At 4:44pm, there were six fire crews at the incident.

No properties were under threat although smoke was still affecting traffic on River Road.

Rural fire crews from Mondure and McEuen brigades quickly brought a fire under control near Kawl Kawl Road at Mondure on Wednesday.

A fire which broke out late last month at Mt Stanley, north-east of Nanango, was still burning on Thursday.

A QFES spokesperson said the fire was contained and posing no threat to property.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service crews were patrolling the fire which was expected to burn for several days.

Nearby residents may be affected by smoke throughout the coming days, particularly in the Diaper area.
