Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory has been named as a finalist in the 2019 Queensland Safe Work and Return to Work Awards.
The recently expanded pig abattoir is one of four finalists in the “Most Significant Improvement To Work Health and Safety Performance” category.
Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace announced the finalists on Thursday.
The awards showcase Queensland’s best work health and safety, rehabilitation and return-to-work champions.
Ms Grace praised the commitment of Queensland businesses and individuals to safety in the workplace.
“Our expert judges had their work cut out again this year with more than 120 entries across 11 categories,” she said.
