Cliff Seiler and Ros Tigell … in training for the 2019 Cycle Of Giving fundraising ride

March 1, 2019

The South Burnett Rail Trail tempted Crawford couple Cliff Seiler and Ros Tigell to buy some new bikes and start riding again … now they’ve decided to pedal for a cause!

The couple is in training for the 2019 Cycle Of Giving which will be held at the James Drysdale Reserve at Bunya on March 10.

The Cycle of Giving raises funds for organ transplant research.

This year’s event aims to raise more than $250,000 to fund life-saving and life-changing research supported by The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation.

Prince Charles Hospital is a cause close to Cliff’s heart (if you’ll pardon the pun).

Twenty-five years ago he had major cardiac surgery at the hospital and he’s forever grateful.

“I didn’t think I’d be riding a pushbike 25 years later,” he said.

A recent visit to the Old Fernvale Bakery and hearing about a young child that needed a heart transplant inspired them to sign up for the Cycle of Giving Ride.

Their training consists of riding along the Rail Trail from Kingaroy to Crawford and back.

They would now like to invite other South Burnett cyclists to consider taking part in the Cycle of Giving Ride, or if not, maybe sponsor their “Team South Burnett” (the link is below).
