BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm

Christmas is just a month away – yes, really – so it’s time to start panicking about buying Christmas gifts, right?

The Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation, better known as BIEDO, recently launched a social media “shop local” campaign to help keep our Christmas dollars in the Burnett.

The #BurnettInlandChristmas campaign is being promoted by BIEDO across social media platforms.

CEO Kristy Frahm said the concept was starting to take off, with people snapping photos to share.

The idea is simple.

Shoppers should snap a photo of a Christmas gift they buy at a South Burnett (or North Burnett) business and share it on BIEDO’s social media pages – not forgetting to say where they bought it.

Businesses can also post their details if they have products or services that would make great Christmas gifts.

But don’t forget to tag posts on Facebook or Instagram with #BurnettInlandChristmas to help spread the word about what’s available this year in the Burnett.

  1. I honestly try to keep my purchases local but some of our local businesses don’t make it easy. I recently bought something locally (paid a 15% premium to keep it local) and said business has just stuffed me around.
