The South Burnett Regional Council has launched a new business growth action plan and “brand” to work with local small businesses.

The move comes at the end of a month of activities focusing on small business.

“We have seen some great activity for business growth over the past month in partnering with BIEDO & USQ,” Mayor Keith Campbell said.

Businesses have taken up opportunities during May to attend workshops and meet-the-buyer events in Brisbane.

“To continue this momentum and focus activity and resources, Council is introducing ‘Business South Burnett’,” Mayor Campbell said.

“Business South Burnett will be all things business, supporting businesses seeking growth and opportunity.”

A Council spokesperson said the changes would be most evident in social media with business-focussed events and business growth marketing changing to the new brand.

Residents have been encouraged to follow the Business South Burnett Facebook page to be kept up-to-date.

“Business South Burnett would also love to hear your story to ensure forward momentum is strong,” a Council spokesperson said.

“If you are a business that has an exciting new product, has a great story to share or some business tips that have helped you, please contact Council’s Economic Development Officer, Kristy Board, on (07) 4189-9100 or through the Business South Burnett Facebook page.”

The South Burnett Directions board – and its associated brand – will continue to represent regional economic development.

“South Burnett Directions will work more closely with Council, primary employers and high-value business to enable and encourage innovation and investment attraction across the South Burnett in line with the 2020 South Burnett Economic Development Strategy,” the Council spokesperson said.
