Newly elected Deputy Opposition Leader Tim Mander and Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington

Newly elected Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington has no illusions about the job ahead of her …

“It’s going to be massive work,” she told southburnett.com.au on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after the LNP Party Room elected her leader.

“But I’m not afraid of hard work and I have the determination to get the job done.”

Mrs Frecklington said she was humbled that a Party Room of 39 people had put their faith in her.

She confirmed that both John-Paul Langbroek and Mark Robinson had also stood for the position, but she would not comment on the voting numbers.

Mrs Frecklington said her first job now was to consult with her Deputy Tim Mander and colleagues about the Shadow Ministry positions.

She said she had worked with Mr Mander previously, and that was why she liked the LNP because it was a small group and everyone knew each other really well.

“We all get along really well,” she said. “We have robust discussions in the party room but when we leave we are a team.”
