Burnett Ulysses Club members with Alison Murray and Peter Mortimer (Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary), Paul Laurentiussen (SBcare) and John Box (Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee)

A year’s worth of raffles and sausage sizzles by the Burnett Ulysses Club has led to some nice Christmas presents for three local not-for-profit organisations.

Club president Russell Barbour presented $500 cheques on Saturday to the Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee (LAC), the Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary, and SBcare.

Russell said the club had held barbecues outside the Kingaroy Mitre 10 over the past 12 months and also run “100 Club” raffles for members.

Hospital Auxiliary treasurer Peter Mortimer said their cheque would go towards fundraising for a $46,000 ultrasound machine for the hospital.

The Auxiliary has already raised about $29,000 towards their target.

The Burnett Ulysses Club meets on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00am in the Stanwell Room at SBcare in Kingaroy and organises regular social club runs.
