The official ballot draw for the South Burnett Regional Council elections – which determines the order in which candidates’ names will appear on ballot papers – has been released.

Returning Officer Graeme Gillanders made the draws at the Electoral Commission of Queensland’s temporary office in Drayton Street, Nanango at 10:00am on Wednesday.

All six draws were witnessed by two independent scrutineeers, as well as 13 of the candidates and three supporters in attendance.

South Burnett candidates in ballot paper order are:

Mayor:

  1. Damien Tessmann
  2. Keith Campbell
  3. Sheena Lindholm
  4. Michael Brown
  5. Grant Newson

Division 1:

  1. Sandy Towell
  2. Caroline Haskard
  3. Steve Jeffery
  4. Roz Frohloff

Division 2:

  1. Gavin Jones
  2. Liz Hollens-Riley
  3. David Kinson
  4. Emeric Charles
  5. Wayne Browning
Division 3:

  1. Abigail Andersson
  2. Ace Bleney
  3. Deb Dennien
  4. Stan Corbett
  5. Danita Potter

Division 4:

  1. Andrew Saal
  2. Terry Fleischfresser

Division 5:

  1. Kathy Duff – returned unopposed

Division 6:

  1. Uwe (Tom) Nowack
  2. Ros Heit

NB. Residents in Division 5 will still have to attend a polling booth to lodge a vote for Mayor, and to vote in the State Referendum which is being held alongside the Council poll.

  1. It is so good to see so many local people putting their hands up to serve their local community. Years ago I remember it was always the same group of people running for council and it is great to see so much interest and so many people willing to have a go !
